Dangerous chemicals found in headphones
A recent study supported by the European Union has reached worrying conclusions. During the investigation, various types of headphones were tested in five Central European countries, and the results show that every single product tested contained some form of hazardous chemical substance.
According to experts, these harmful substances—such as phthalates and other plasticizers—can pose a serious risk to health, especially for children and young people who frequently use these devices. The chemicals can leach from the plastic components upon contact with the skin.
The research points out that there are still significant gaps in the safety of consumer goods on the European market. Although headphones are popular, manufacturers often do not pay enough attention to the safety of the materials used, which can lead to long-term health problems.
Experts advise consumers to be cautious and, if possible, to choose more reliable products with quality certifications. Authorities are expected to introduce stricter inspections for similar electronic goods to protect consumers from harmful effects.
