Hungarian farmers are still waiting for EU crisis support

Hungarian agricultural producers are still waiting for the EU financial assistance intended to offset the rise in production costs. The situation of farmers has become significantly more difficult in the recent period due to market changes.

According to the National Association of Hungarian Farmers' Circles and Farmers' Cooperatives (Magosz), the European Union has allocated a total of 16.6 million euros, or approximately 6.5 billion forints, to Hungary from a crisis fund. This amount is planned to help reduce the burdens on farmers.

The primary goal of the support would be to help farmers manage the drastically increased prices of fertilizers and fuel. In recent months, these costs have posed a serious challenge for domestic agricultural businesses, as they have significantly reduced the profitability of production.

According to representatives of the farmers, the delay in funding is causing uncertainty in the sector. For agricultural producers, rapid assistance would be crucial to ensure spring work and continuous production.

Currently, both farmers and the relevant professional organizations are monitoring developments regarding the EU payments. The goal is for the allocated funds to reach Hungarian producers as soon as possible, thereby helping to stabilize the sector.
