Hungarian hair supply wholesaler fined
The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has imposed a significant fine on Hair-Line Kft. The reason for the decision was that the company restricted market competition in the distribution of hairdressing products.
The authority's investigation revealed that the business determined the prices at which its partners could resell Alfaparf brand products. This practice is prohibited, as retailers must decide on their prices independently.
According to the competition authority, the fixed prices adversely affected customers, as free competition could not develop in the market. The company must pay a total of 68.5 million forints due to the violation.
The purpose of the decision is to ensure that all market participants comply with the rules of fair competition in the future. Authorities continue to monitor similar cases to protect the interests of consumers in the Hungarian market.
