Tensions rise between haulers and the government: truckers prepare for protests
Serious tension has developed between Hungarian haulers and the government. Representatives of the truckers recently submitted their demands to the Tisza government, as they are dissatisfied with the current economic conditions and the regulations affecting the sector.
Dávid Vitézy has already taken the first steps in the matter and announced immediate measures to resolve the situation. However, experts believe these quick decisions will likely not be enough to prevent the planned nationwide protests.
Representatives of the haulers, including István Kapitány and András Kármán, have sent a clear message to policymakers. According to them, financial support and concrete economic relief are needed for the sector's survival; otherwise, the truckers are prepared to take to the streets.
Managing the situation poses a major challenge for the government, as the transport sector is crucial for the functioning of the Hungarian economy. Any disruption in transport could cause serious supply problems in the country.
Negotiations between the parties are expected to continue in the coming days. For now, the public and the affected businesses are watching the events with tension, hoping that an agreement can be reached and major traffic chaos avoided.
