SPAR Panic Alert: “Do Not Eat” Warning Issued Over Contaminated Noodles Across Austria
SPAR has issued an urgent recall of a private label pasta product across Austria after detecting possible microbiological contamination, warning customers not to consume the affected item.
According to a press release, the recalled product is “S-Budget Tagliatelle with Egg 500g (Pasta alluovo – egg pasta).” The affected batch carries a best-before date of March 24, 2028. The company confirmed that all items with this date have already been removed from store shelves as a precaution.
The recall specifically targets this single product, while SPAR reassured customers that all other S-Budget items and egg tagliatelle products remain safe and are not impacted. The decision was made purely as a safety measure following the identification of potential contamination risks.
Customers who have already purchased the affected pasta are strongly advised not to consume it under any circumstances. Instead, they should return the product to the nearest SPAR, EUROSPAR, INTERSPAR, or Maximarkt store.
SPAR has also announced that customers will receive a full refund even without presenting a receipt. For further assistance or inquiries, customers can contact SPAR customer service via email at [office@spar.at](mailto:office@spar.at) or call the toll-free number 0800 22 11 20.
