Bank explosion and chase ends with the uncovering of an international gang!!
A horrific accident occurred near the town of Marktl am Inn in the German state of Bavaria, revealing details of a case resembling crime movies, which started in Austria and ended with a vehicle explosion and a frantic escape.
In a shocking scene, a BMW car with a German license plate from Munich was found completely wrecked on the side of a roundabout near Marktl am Inn, the birthplace of former Pope Benedict XVI. The car was carrying three people, all of whom were injured and taken to the hospital. Authorities closed the area for hours while firefighting teams worked to secure the site.
Investigations revealed that the incident was not just a collision, but part of an escape operation by a gang involved in the crime of blowing up an ATM in the Austrian area of Gmunden. According to the Austrian police, the crime occurred early Friday near a shopping center, where four men blew up the ATM but failed to steal the money and had to flee on foot after their car was damaged.
In a desperate attempt to escape, they tried to steal a car from three girls who were near a graduation party (Maturafeier), but to no avail. Later, they managed to steal the keys of a gray VW Tiguan from one of the students and fled with it. The Austrian police launched a wide pursuit operation.
On the evening of the same day, the stolen car was found burned in a forest near Aichkirchen, about 30 km from the crime scene. Police suspect that the perpetrators set the car on fire themselves to hide the evidence. Witnesses reported seeing men believed to be of Moroccan descent buying fuel in containers at a gas station.
The investigations led the police to Linz, where an exciting chase began, during which the speed of the fugitives reached 260 km/h. The car crossed the border towards Bavaria, Germany, and the accident occurred near Burghausen.
In the crashed car, there were three suspects, aged 35 and 36, all of whom hold Dutch nationality. They were arrested after being injured in the accident, while the search for the fourth suspect is still ongoing. It is not yet clear whether the BMW car was also stolen, but the Austrian police confirm that there is a significant connection between these individuals and the ATM explosion on May 16 in Gmunden.
Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the perpetrators are involved in other similar crimes. The German police have remained silent so far, while the public prosecutor's office in Munich has not commented on the incident at the time of preparing the report. It is also not yet clear how the incident occurred at Marktl.
