One Dead and Eight Injured After Building Collapses in South Delhi
A tragic incident occurred in south Delhi when a three-storey commercial building collapsed near the Saket Metro station. The collapse happened suddenly, causing immediate panic in the busy area. Emergency services were called to the scene right away to begin a large-scale rescue operation.
Authorities have confirmed that a 26-year-old man died in the accident. Eight other people were successfully rescued from the rubble by emergency teams. Those who were injured were taken to nearby hospitals to receive medical treatment for their injuries.
The rescue mission was a multi-agency effort, involving several different departments working together to clear the debris. Because the building was located near a major metro station, the rescue teams had to manage the crowds while using heavy machinery to search for survivors trapped under the fallen concrete.
Local officials are now investigating the cause of the collapse to determine why the structure failed. While the investigation is ongoing, the incident has raised concerns about the safety and maintenance of older buildings in the city. The area around the site remains closed to the public as workers continue to clear the remaining wreckage.
