Jharkhand Completes 75% of Voter Mapping for Upcoming Electoral Revision

Jharkhand’s Chief Electoral Officer, K. Ravi Kumar, announced on Saturday that the state has made significant progress in updating its voter records. According to the official, 75% of voters have now been successfully mapped using the electoral rolls from 2003. This process is an important step in preparing for the upcoming Special Interim Revision (SIR).

The mapping process involves comparing current voter information with older records to ensure everything is correct. By linking these records, officials can verify the identity of voters and maintain a clean and reliable database. This helps prevent errors and ensures that the election process remains fair for everyone in the state.

For the remaining 25% of voters who have not yet been mapped, the government has a plan. Starting from May 23, 2026, lists of these unmapped voters will be displayed at local polling booths. This will allow citizens to check their names and provide any necessary information to complete the process.

Mr. Kumar emphasized that the goal is to have a complete and accurate list of all eligible voters. By making the unmapped lists public, the electoral office hopes to reach as many people as possible before the next major electoral event. Citizens are encouraged to visit their local booths to confirm their status and ensure they are ready to vote.
