Activist Forum Urges President to Evaluate Performance of KP2MI Officials
A group calling itself the Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI) Observer Activist Forum recently delivered sharp criticism regarding the performance of officials within the KP2MI. They believe that the services and protection provided to Indonesian workers abroad are still not optimal, necessitating firm action from the central government.
In their official statement, the forum highlighted several major issues, ranging from the slow handling of violence cases against migrant workers to the administrative obstacles frequently experienced by these foreign exchange earners. They argue that the current system needs to be improved so that the rights of migrant workers can be better protected.
Therefore, the PMI Observer Activist Forum is urging the President to conduct a total evaluation of the ministers and relevant officials within the KP2MI. They hope this step will bring about real change in the governance of the placement and protection of Indonesian workers in the future.
As of now, the KP2MI has not provided an official response regarding these demands. The public is now awaiting the government's next move in responding to this pressure for the sake of the welfare of Indonesian migrant workers spread across various countries.
