TNI Inaugurates 204 New Units, DPR Emphasizes Importance of Personnel Quality
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has just inaugurated 204 new units in commemoration of its 81st anniversary. This increase in the number of units is being carried out as a strategic step to strengthen defense and security throughout the territory of Indonesia.
Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sukamta, gave a positive response to the move. According to him, the addition of new units is a good effort to improve the TNI's readiness in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty against various threats that may arise.
However, Sukamta also reminded that the increase in the number of units should not focus solely on quantity. He emphasized that the government and TNI leadership must ensure the strengthening of qualified personnel so that each unit can work effectively and professionally.
In addition to the quality of human resources, the fulfillment of modern Primary Weaponry Defense Systems (Alutsista) is also an important note. Sukamta hopes that every new unit formed will be immediately equipped with adequate supporting equipment in accordance with the needs of their duties in the field.
Overall, this step is expected to strengthen the TNI's position as the nation's vanguard. With a combination of adding units, improving soldier quality, and modernizing weaponry, it is hoped that Indonesia's defense will become even more robust in the future.
