Enhancing Digital Skills, UMS Collaborates with Ubuntu Indonesia and Sivali Cloud
The Information Technology Center (PTI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) has just established a strategic partnership with Ubuntu Indonesia and Sivali Cloud Technology. This step was taken to strengthen the digital competence of students and staff amidst the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The main focus of this collaboration is the development of skills in the fields of operating systems and cloud computing. Ubuntu-based technology is a key point in this training as it is considered one of the most widely used operating systems in modern software development and server infrastructure.
Beyond the technical aspects, discussions during this partnership also highlighted the urgent need for qualified human resources in Indonesia. The gap between the skills of university graduates and the needs of the technology industry is a major challenge that this training and certification program aims to address.
With support from industry practitioners, it is hoped that participants will be better prepared to face the challenges of the workforce in the digital era. This program is expected to produce experts who not only understand the theory but are also capable of operating the latest technology in a practical manner.
In conclusion, this initiative demonstrates UMS's commitment to supporting digital transformation in higher education. This collaboration between academics and technology companies is expected to continue in order to expand access to technology learning for the younger generation in Indonesia.
