DPD RI Delegation Studies Russia's Election Digitalization to Strengthen Indonesia's System
A delegation from the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia has just concluded a working visit to Russia to monitor the implementation of the general election in that country. This visit was conducted in several regions, including the capital city of Moscow, to study the democratic process taking place there.
One of the main focuses of this monitoring was the election digitalization system implemented by the Russian government. DPD RI member, Tamsil Linrung, stated that the digital technology used in the Russian election has its own advantages, especially in terms of data transparency.
According to Tamsil, the digital system can strengthen the evidence required in the event of an election dispute. With digital data recorded systematically, the verification process and the resolution of legal issues related to vote results can be carried out more quickly and accurately.
Experiences from this visit are expected to serve as material for evaluation for Indonesia in developing a more modern election system. The utilization of digital technology is seen as an important step to increase public trust in the integrity of future general election results.
DPD RI plans to study the implementation of this technology more deeply so that it can be adapted to the needs and conditions in Indonesia. This step is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the national democratic system so that it is more transparent and efficient.
