Medical Workers Union Federation Proposes Changes to Healthcare Worker Wage System
The Indonesian Medical and Health Workers Union Federation has just submitted a new proposal regarding the payroll system for healthcare workers in Indonesia. They propose that medical workers' wages should no longer be based solely on a monthly system, but rather calculated based on units of working time combined with units of work output.
According to the union, this change aims to create a fairer payroll system for medical personnel. Currently, many health workers feel that the workload they bear is not commensurate with the salary received, especially when they have to handle a very large number of patients at one time.
With this new system, it is hoped that every healthcare worker will receive compensation that is in accordance with their productivity and the volume of work they complete. This proposal is also expected to improve the welfare of nurses, doctors, and other medical staff working in various health facilities throughout Indonesia.
The union hopes that the government can consider this proposal in its employment policy for the health sector. They believe that a more transparent and performance-based wage system will help increase motivation and the quality of healthcare services for the wider community.
Currently, the proposal is still in the stage of further discussion. The government and relevant parties are expected to immediately engage in dialogue to find the best solution that not only benefits workers but also maintains the sustainability of national health services.
