The Importance of Health Insurance Access for Youth in Eastern Indonesia
Access to healthcare services is one of the key factors in improving the quality of life for the community. Recently, a report from Airlangga University highlighted the patterns of health insurance usage among youth living in the Eastern Indonesia region.
Based on the data, the majority of youth in the region have utilized the national health insurance program. It was recorded that 67.1% of all youth accessing healthcare services use the BPJS Contribution Assistance Recipient (PBI) scheme.
The BPJS PBI program itself is a government assistance scheme intended for those in need. The high rate of usage shows that government assistance programs play a crucial role in helping youth obtain access to proper medical treatment.
Although the level of participation is already quite high, challenges in the equitable distribution of healthcare services in remote areas are still being addressed. The government is committed to continuously improving health infrastructure so that the benefits of insurance can be felt maximally by all levels of society.
In conclusion, the utilization of health insurance through the BPJS PBI program has become a backbone for youth in Eastern Indonesia. This step is expected to continue in order to create a healthier and more productive young generation in the future.
