Microsoft Invests IDR 27 Trillion for AI and Cloud Development in Indonesia
Tech giant Microsoft has just announced a major investment plan in Indonesia. The value of the investment reaches 1.7 billion US dollars, or approximately IDR 27 trillion. These funds will be used to strengthen technology infrastructure in the country over the next four years.
The main focus of this investment is the development of cloud computing infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, Microsoft is also committed to building a broader digital ecosystem in Indonesia. This step is expected to support the digital transformation currently being promoted by the government.
The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, welcomed the investment plan. She emphasized that Microsoft's presence must provide tangible benefits for national capacity. According to her, this investment is not just about technology, but must also improve the capabilities of Indonesia's human resources in the digital field.
In addition to infrastructure development, this investment also includes skills training programs for the public. It is hoped that thousands of Indonesians will be able to gain access to education regarding AI technology. This aims to ensure that the local workforce is better prepared to face competition in the global digital economy era.
Overall, this move by Microsoft is a positive signal for the technology investment climate in Indonesia. With better infrastructure support, Indonesia is expected to become one of the centers of digital innovation in the Southeast Asia region in the future.
