Ministry of Health Launches Nutri-Level Policy to Improve Public Health
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has just introduced a new policy called Nutri-Level. This step was taken as a strategic government effort to improve public health through early disease prevention. This policy focuses on providing clearer nutritional information on food and beverage products circulating in the market.
Through the Nutri-Level system, consumers will find it easier to identify the sugar, salt, and fat content in the products they purchase. This information is presented in a simple way so that the public can quickly understand the nutritional quality of each product. With this label, it is hoped that the public can make healthier food choices every day.
This policy is part of the national preventive health program. The government realizes that many non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, are often caused by unhealthy eating patterns. Therefore, education through product labeling is considered an effective way to gradually change the consumption habits of the Indonesian people.
In addition to providing education to consumers, this policy also encourages food producers to improve the composition of their products. With the Nutri-Level standard, companies are expected to produce food with better nutritional content. This is expected to create a food industry ecosystem that better supports public health.
In conclusion, the implementation of Nutri-Level is an important step in safeguarding the future health of the nation. The government hopes that this policy can reduce the rate of chronic diseases in the future. The public is encouraged to start paying attention to nutrition labels before buying products in order to lead a healthier and higher-quality lifestyle.
