Nine Indonesian Citizens Detained by Israeli Forces during Humanitarian Mission to Gaza
Nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) have reportedly been detained by Israeli military forces. These individuals were carrying out an international humanitarian mission to deliver essential aid to residents in the Gaza region of Palestine.
The incident began when the ship carrying the volunteers was intercepted by the military in the waters around Gaza. In addition to detaining the nine Indonesian volunteers, Israeli forces also detained all other crew members and seized the vessel used in the mission.
In response to this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of the Republic of Indonesia issued a very firm official statement. The Indonesian government strongly condemns the detention, as it is considered a violation of humanitarian principles and international law.
The Indonesian government demands that the Israeli side immediately release the nine Indonesian citizens and all ship crew members unconditionally. Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuously coordinating with various international parties to ensure the health and safety of the detained volunteers.
This humanitarian mission is part of a global effort to send medical aid and food to Gaza residents who are experiencing a crisis. This detention has become a major concern for the Indonesian people, who continue to support the provision of humanitarian aid for civilians in the conflict zone.
