Lobster Farming in Batam Succeeds, Harvest Exported to Singapore
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has just recorded a success in the lobster farming program in Batam, Riau Islands. This program is part of the government's efforts to develop a more modern and sustainable aquaculture sector in Indonesia.
In the latest harvest, hundreds of kilograms of lobster were successfully produced through the farming modeling system implemented by the KKP. The harvest is of high quality, enabling it to meet the stringent international market standards.
This success is evidenced by the fact that the entire harvest was absorbed by the Singaporean market. High demand from this neighboring country demonstrates that Indonesian farmed lobster products have strong competitiveness in the global market.
This farming program is expected to serve as an example for local farmers in other regions. With the right technology, Indonesia's marine sector has great potential to improve the economy of coastal communities while strengthening Indonesia's position as a global exporter of marine products.
Moving forward, the KKP plans to continue developing this farming model so that it can be applied on a wider scale. This step is expected to maintain the availability of lobster in the market while providing sustainable economic benefits for fishermen and farmers in Indonesia.
