PT KAI Offers Train Ticket Discounts for Senior Passengers
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) continues to provide convenience for the public, especially for elderly customers (seniors). Currently, the railway transportation service provider is offering a fare reduction program, or a 20 percent ticket discount, for passengers aged 60 and over.
This policy aims to show appreciation for senior citizens while facilitating more affordable access to public transportation. The program applies to long-distance and medium-distance train journeys on various routes available in Indonesia.
To obtain this discount, senior customers simply need to register their personal data at station counters or through the official KAI application. The main requirement is to present an original identity card proving that the passenger is at least 60 years old at the time of departure.
This identity registration process only needs to be done once. Once the data is registered in the system, customers can immediately book tickets at the discounted rate through the KAI Access application or at ticket sales counters whenever they wish to travel.
This step is expected to increase public interest in using train transportation as the primary choice for travel. PT KAI urges the public to take advantage of this facility by ensuring their personal data has been correctly registered before booking tickets.
