Mastel Urges Global Digital Companies to Contribute to Indonesia's Infrastructure
The Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel) recently urged global digital platform companies to make a tangible contribution to the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia. This step is being taken as an effort to create a more equitable and sustainable digital ecosystem for the entire community.
According to Mastel, large technology companies operating in Indonesia derive significant profits from the local market. Therefore, they are expected not only to focus on business but also to participate in strengthening internet and technology networks in various regions, including areas that are still difficult to reach.
In addition to physical development, Mastel also highlighted the importance of investment in human resource development in the technology sector. Global companies are expected to collaborate with the government to provide digital skills training to local talent so that Indonesia can compete on the international stage.
Currently, the Indonesian government is aggressively pursuing digital transformation across various sectors. The active participation of global technology companies is considered to be very helpful in accelerating the government's targets in providing equitable and high-quality internet access throughout the country.
In conclusion, Mastel hopes for more intensive dialogue between the government and global digital industry players. Good cooperation between both parties is expected to have a positive impact on the growth of Indonesia's digital economy in the future.
