Karang Bahagia Residents Protest Presence of Plastic Warehouse Allegedly Violating Regulations
Residents in the Karang Bahagia area, Bekasi, recently staged a protest regarding the presence of a plastic storage warehouse in their neighborhood. The local community feels disturbed by the activities at the warehouse, as they are considered inconsistent with the zoning regulations for residential areas.
In addition to the zoning permit issues, residents have also complained about alleged environmental pollution caused by the warehouse's activities. They are concerned that the piles of plastic waste and the operational processes at the site could have a negative impact on the health of local residents and the air quality in their living environment.
Responding to these complaints, representatives of the residents have reported the matter to the local authorities. They are demanding that the local government immediately conduct a surprise inspection and review the warehouse's operational permit to ensure whether the company has complied with applicable environmental regulations.
On the other hand, the warehouse management has not yet provided an official statement regarding the residents' allegations. The local government is expected to follow up on this report immediately so that the situation in Karang Bahagia remains conducive and the community's rights to a healthy environment can be well protected.
