Tangerang City Government Strengthens Support for Exclusive Breastfeeding for Working Mothers
The Tangerang City Government, through the Health Office (Dinkes), recently held a special seminar on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. This activity was held to commemorate National Breastfeeding Month, which takes place throughout August.
The seminar was a collaboration between the Tangerang City Health Office and the Project HOPE Foundation. The main focus of this event was to provide education to the public, especially working mothers, regarding the importance of providing exclusive breastfeeding for infants during the first six months of life.
During the activity, the government emphasized that working mothers often face challenges in providing breast milk. Therefore, support from the work environment and family is highly necessary so that mothers can continue to provide the best nutrition for their children despite their busy schedules outside the home.
In addition to education, the local government is also encouraging companies in the Tangerang area to provide adequate lactation room facilities. These facilities are expected to help working mothers be more comfortable and consistent in providing exclusive breast milk for their babies.
Through this step, the Tangerang City Government hopes that the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in its region can continue to increase. This effort is an important part of the government's commitment to improving children's health quality from an early age and reducing stunting rates in Indonesia.
