UIN Ar-Raniry Academic Shares Experience of Aceh's Sharia in Australia
An academic from the State Islamic University (UIN) Ar-Raniry recently shared his insights regarding the implementation of Islamic Sharia in Aceh during a discussion forum in Australia. This activity served as an important platform to introduce the dynamics of religious life in Indonesia to the international community.
Reza, an alumnus of Harvard University, served as the keynote speaker at the event. He explained that Aceh's experience in implementing Sharia is a crucial part of understanding the vast diversity of Islam in Indonesia.
In his presentation, he highlighted how local values and Islamic law can coexist in Aceh. This discussion aimed to provide participants with a deeper perspective on how Indonesia manages cultural and religious diversity across its regions.
The presence of Indonesian academics at such international forums is considered highly positive. It helps build intercultural dialogue and provides a more accurate understanding of social and religious conditions in Indonesia to a global audience.
It is hoped that this activity will continue in the future. Through the exchange of ideas and experiences, it is expected that Indonesia's image as a moderate country that is open to discussion will become more widely recognized in the international arena.
