BPOM Strengthens Health Cooperation with China to Improve Vaccine Quality
The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) is currently exploring new cooperation with health authorities in China. This step was taken to strengthen the national health sector through a strategic partnership that covers various important aspects of drug and food supervision.
One of the main focuses of this memorandum of understanding (MoU) plan is the development of vaccine technology and biological products. BPOM hopes that this cooperation can facilitate technology transfer from China to Indonesia, so that domestic vaccine production capacity becomes more independent and of higher quality.
In addition to vaccine development, this agenda also includes the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI). AI technology is planned to be used to accelerate the drug supervision process and simplify the analysis of complex health data, so that services to the public can run more efficiently.
This cooperation is also expected to encourage investment in Indonesia's health sector. With this collaboration, it is hoped that public access to safe and high-quality medicines will be further guaranteed, while simultaneously strengthening Indonesia's position in facing future global health challenges.
