Forest Fires in Kalimantan Spread, Threatening Health and Aviation
Forest and land fires are now a serious concern in the Kalimantan region. The area burned is reported to be continuously increasing, causing concern for both the local community and the regional government.
Thick smoke produced by these fires has begun to spread to various areas. This has caused air quality to drop drastically and potentially interfere with public health, especially for those with respiratory issues.
In addition to health problems, the haze also has a negative impact on the transportation sector. Limited visibility due to thick smoke is disrupting flight schedules at a number of airports in Kalimantan, causing many flights to be delayed or canceled for safety reasons.
The government and relevant parties are currently continuing efforts to extinguish fires in hard-to-reach areas. The public is urged to remain vigilant and wear masks when outdoors to avoid the adverse effects of smoke exposure.
This situation serves as an important reminder for all parties to better preserve the forests. Rapid and effective handling of forest and land fires is highly anticipated so that air conditions can improve soon and residents' activities can return to normal.
