Ministry of Health Strengthens Cooperation for National Vitamin A Program
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has just expanded its strategic partnership with the organization Vitamin Angels. This collaboration aims to strengthen the national Vitamin A supplementation campaign for children in all corners of Indonesia.
This program is focused on children aged 6 to 59 months who are at risk of nutritional deficiencies. Regular administration of Vitamin A supplements is considered crucial as it provides significant health protection for this age group.
Data shows that proper Vitamin A supplementation can reduce child mortality by up to 24 percent in at-risk populations. Through this collaboration, the government is striving to ensure that the distribution of supplements reaches more children in various regions to reduce stunting and other health issues.
In addition to the distribution of supplements, this partnership also includes increased education for parents regarding the importance of micronutrients for child growth. This step is expected to create broader awareness of child health at the family level.
This program is part of the government's ongoing commitment to improving public health quality from an early age. With this additional support, it is hoped that the national Vitamin A coverage target can be achieved more effectively this year.
