Indonesian Health Council Investigates 10 Medical Personnel Regarding Alleged Patient Bullying
The Indonesian Health Council (KKI) is currently investigating 10 medical and health personnel. This step was taken following reports of alleged bullying and a lack of empathy toward a patient who is a BPJS Kesehatan participant.
This case stems from reports stating that the medical personnel allegedly insulted the patient while providing care. Such behavior is considered inconsistent with the professional ethical standards that should be upheld by every health worker in Indonesia.
Currently, an investigation team is gathering statements from various related parties to confirm the actual chronology of events. This investigation aims to determine whether there were any disciplinary or code of ethics violations in the care provided to the patient.
The authorities emphasize that every health worker is obligated to provide humane and professional care to all patients, regardless of their health insurance status. This case serves as an important reminder for all health facilities to continuously improve the quality of service and communication ethics toward the public.
The examination process for the 10 medical personnel is still ongoing. The results of this investigation will later determine the disciplinary actions or sanctions to be imposed in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations in the health sector.
