Indonesia and Switzerland Establish Mineral Downstreaming Cooperation for Technology Transfer
The Indonesian government and the Swiss government have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding enhanced cooperation in the industrial sector. The main focus of this agreement is the development of mineral downstreaming, which is currently one of Indonesia's national economic priorities.
Through this cooperation, both countries have agreed to strengthen collaboration in domestic natural resource processing. The Indonesian government hopes that this step will provide greater added value to its mineral commodities, moving away from merely exporting raw materials abroad.
Beyond the economic aspect, a key point in this MoU is the commitment to technology transfer. Indonesia aims for its local workforce and industries to absorb technical expertise from Switzerland, which is known for having some of the most advanced industrial and technological standards in the world.
This cooperation is expected to accelerate the industrialization process in Indonesia. With technological support from Switzerland, it is hoped that the mining and mineral processing sector in Indonesia will become more efficient, modern, and environmentally friendly in the future.
