Universitas Airlangga Holds Discussion to Commemorate the Struggle of the Indonesian Women's Movement
Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) recently held a discussion event titled "Inclusive Talk." This event aimed to preserve public memory regarding the long history of the women's movement in Indonesia, ranging from the national movement period to the modern era today.
In the discussion session, the speakers thoroughly examined how the role of women has evolved over time. They highlighted the contributions of female figures in fighting for basic rights and equality in Indonesia, from the pre-independence era to the current digital age.
This discussion did not only cover history but also highlighted the challenges faced by the women's movement in the present day. Participants were encouraged to understand that the struggle of women is an essential part of the nation's history that must be continuously maintained and studied by the younger generation.
This activity received a positive response from the students and academics who attended. Through inclusive dialogue, the event successfully created a space for the public to exchange ideas regarding gender issues that are relevant to the current social conditions in Indonesia.
In closing, the organizers hope that this discussion can increase public awareness of the importance of women's roles in nation-building. By understanding history, it is hoped that future generations can continue this struggle in ways that are more innovative and relevant to the developments of the times.
