Air Quality in Central Kalimantan Reaches Hazardous Status
Air quality in several regions of Indonesia is reported to have declined drastically this morning, Tuesday (10/6/2026). Based on the latest data, Central Kalimantan has become the region with the worst level of air pollution in all of Indonesia.
Data from the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) shows that Central Kalimantan recorded a figure of 4066 at 08:00 WIB. This figure falls into the hazardous category for the health of the public breathing the air in that region.
In addition to Central Kalimantan, two other provinces also recorded poor air quality, namely Riau and South Sumatra. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as high air pollution can have adverse effects on the respiratory health of residents.
These hazardous air conditions require the public to be more cautious when engaging in outdoor activities. Local governments are expected to immediately take mitigation steps to reduce the impact of pollution on residents in the affected areas.
