Investment in Indonesia Remains Concentrated on Java Island
The realization of investment in Indonesia currently shows quite positive development, yet its distribution remains uneven. Recent data indicates that capital investment activities are still highly dependent on regions within Java Island.
Four main provinces that serve as current investment hubs are West Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java, and Banten. These four regions continue to dominate investment acquisition compared to other provinces outside of Java Island.
This situation occurs because Java Island possesses more complete infrastructure and broader market access for investors. Furthermore, the availability of labor and logistical ease are the primary reasons why many companies choose locations in these areas.
The Indonesian government is actually continuing its efforts to encourage the equitable distribution of investment outside of Java Island. This step is being taken to ensure more equitable economic growth for all people across various regions in Indonesia.
Moving forward, infrastructure development outside of Java Island is expected to attract investor interest in placing capital in other regions. With the equitable distribution of investment, it is hoped that the economic gap between regions in Indonesia can be significantly reduced.
