Deputy Minister of Health Dante Emphasizes the Important Role of Public Health Education for Indonesia
The Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, emphasized that the future of Indonesia's health sector is highly dependent on the strength of public health. According to him, national health development should not only focus on hospital-based treatment, but also on prevention and education efforts at the community level.
In his statement, Prof. Dante highlighted the crucial role of public health educational institutions. He mentioned that these educational institutions bear a great responsibility in producing experts capable of facing future health challenges.
There are three strategic roles that must be carried out by public health educational institutions. First, they play a role in producing graduates who are competent and ready to work directly in the field. Second, these institutions are expected to be able to conduct research that is relevant to the public health needs in various regions across Indonesia.
Finally, public health educational institutions are expected to become partners to the government in formulating data-driven health policies. Collaboration between the academic world and the government is considered essential to ensure that health programs can run effectively and be well-targeted.
In conclusion, strengthening the public health sector is the key to improving the quality of life for the Indonesian population. The government hopes that this synergy can create a health system that is stronger, more resilient, and more equitable for all levels of society.
