Gorontalo Targets Higher Ranking in Indonesia Muslim Travel Index
Gorontalo Province has demonstrated proud achievements in the halal tourism sector. In the latest Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) report, Gorontalo successfully secured the 11th position nationally. This achievement is a significant step for the province to be recognized as a leading Muslim-friendly tourist destination in Indonesia.
This 11th-place ranking is the result of the local government's hard work in developing tourism facilities and services. The IMTI assesses various aspects, such as accessibility, communication, environment, and services that cater to the needs of Muslim travelers. Gorontalo is considered to have met these standards well, earning it national recognition.
Despite achieving a respectable position, the Gorontalo Provincial Government does not intend to stop there. They aim to climb to a higher ranking in the coming years. To achieve this target, the government will continue to improve tourism-supporting infrastructure and enhance the promotion of local tourist destinations on an international level.
The development of halal tourism is expected to attract more tourists, both domestic and international. With the increasing number of visitors, local economic sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and MSMEs will also grow. This aligns with the central government's program to establish Indonesia as a global hub for halal tourism.
Gorontalo's achievement in the IMTI provides motivation for other regions in Indonesia to continue innovating. With its beautiful natural potential and strong culture, Gorontalo is optimistic about becoming one of the primary Muslim travel destinations in the future. This success proves that regions outside of Java also possess high competitiveness in the tourism industry.
