Pertamax Price Rises to Rp16,250 per Liter Starting June 10
The Indonesian government, through PT Pertamina (Persero), has officially increased the price of Pertamax and Pertamax Green fuel. This price hike takes effect on Wednesday, June 10. The new price has come as a surprise to the public due to the significant increase compared to the previous price.
Previously, the price of Pertamax was at Rp12,300 per liter. However, under this new policy, the price has now surged to Rp16,250 per liter. This price change was implemented by the government to adjust to current global energy market conditions, which are experiencing fluctuations.
Many economic observers assess that this price increase will have a major impact on the public, especially the middle-class group. This group typically uses private vehicles for work and daily activities. With more expensive fuel prices, their monthly transportation costs are certain to increase significantly.
In addition to transportation costs, fuel price hikes often trigger increases in the prices of other goods and services. This occurs because the logistics distribution costs for delivering basic necessities also rise. Therefore, the public must now be wiser in managing their finances to continue meeting other living needs.
To date, the government continues to monitor the national economic situation following the announcement of the price increase. Although this policy feels heavy for some citizens, this step is considered necessary to maintain the country's financial stability. The public hopes the government can provide solutions or assistance to alleviate the increasingly high economic burden.
