Supporting Food Security, Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base Holds Sugarcane Harvest in Takalar
Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base has just carried out a simultaneous grand sugarcane harvest in the Takalar region, South Sulawesi. This activity is part of the Indonesian Air Force's concrete efforts to support the national food security program currently being promoted by the government.
The involvement of the Indonesian Air Force in the agricultural sector is not merely a routine activity, but a tangible manifestation of territorial development implementation. Through this program, the air base aims to demonstrate that the military is not only tasked with safeguarding national sovereignty in the air, but also plays an active role in assisting community welfare in the economic and food sectors.
This grand harvest involved various parties, including local farmers and the local regional government. The synergy between the military and the community is expected to increase agricultural productivity, especially for sugarcane, which is one of the important resources for the sugar industry in Indonesia.
This activity is expected to serve as an example for other regions in utilizing productive land optimally. With support from various agencies, it is hoped that Indonesia can become more self-sufficient in meeting the basic food needs of all its people.
