Indonesian Game Day: A Momentum to Celebrate the Creativity of Local Developers
Every year, Indonesia celebrates Indonesian Game Day (HARGAI) as a form of appreciation for the digital gaming industry in the country. In 2026, this celebration serves as an important moment to provide greater support to local game creators who continue to develop.
Chairman of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), Shafiq Husein, stated that HARGAI is not just an ordinary celebration. For him, this day is the perfect time to celebrate the achievements of local game developers who have worked hard to create creative and innovative works.
The gaming industry in Indonesia currently shows enormous potential. Many local developers are now able to compete in the international market with increasingly better game quality. Support from the public and the government is expected to help this industry continue to grow and provide a positive impact on the national creative economy.
Through this celebration, AGI hopes that the Indonesian people will become increasingly proud to use domestically made game products. Furthermore, this momentum also serves as a venue to strengthen the gaming ecosystem so that local creators get broader opportunities to be recognized by the world.
In closing, Indonesian Game Day serves as a reminder that the creativity of the nation's youth has a quality that is no less than foreign works. With good collaboration between industry players and the public, the future of the Indonesian gaming industry is expected to be even brighter.
