Indonesian Health Council Investigates Patient Bullying Case on Social Media

The Indonesian Health Council (KKI) has officially expressed its deep regret regarding a bullying incident that occurred on social media. The case involves a healthcare worker who responded negatively to a BPJS Kesehatan patient who was complaining about medical services.

The incident began when a patient shared their experience regarding the healthcare services they received on a social media platform. However, instead of receiving a solution, the patient became the target of bullying by a healthcare worker who felt offended by the complaint.

In response to this, the Indonesian Health Council has decided to intervene and conduct a further investigation. This step was taken to ensure that every healthcare worker continues to carry out their duties in accordance with the professional code of ethics applicable in Indonesia.

The KKI emphasized that healthcare workers should provide professional and empathetic service to all patients, regardless of their health insurance status. Bullying patients in a public space is considered an unethical act that tarnishes the image of the medical profession.

Currently, the investigation process is ongoing to determine the appropriate sanctions for those involved. The public is expected to remain calm and continue providing constructive feedback for the improvement of the quality of healthcare services in all medical facilities across Indonesia.
