UGM Inaugurates Indonesia's First AI Research Center to Support Technological Innovation
Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has just launched an artificial intelligence (AI) research center in collaboration with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. The research center, named UGM Indosat NVAITC, is the first university-based AI technology center in Indonesia.
The presence of this research center aims to support the development of the digital ecosystem in the country. Through this facility, students and researchers can conduct experiments and create new innovations that are relevant to current industrial needs.
In addition to serving as a research site, this technology center also functions as a platform for collaboration between the academic world and the industrial sector. This partnership is expected to accelerate the application of AI technology in various fields, ranging from healthcare to corporate operational efficiency.
This step is part of Indonesia's efforts to increase its competitiveness in the global technology sector. With adequate research facilities in place, it is hoped that many young Indonesian talents skilled in artificial intelligence development will emerge.
Moving forward, UGM Indosat NVAITC will continue to develop various training and research programs. This initiative is expected to become an important milestone for the progress of digital transformation in Indonesia, making it more independent and innovative.
