PCIM United Kingdom Raises Issue of Indonesian Muslim Mental Health at British National Forum
The Special Branch of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) in the United Kingdom has just brought an important issue regarding mental health to a national forum in the UK. This step was taken to highlight the challenges faced by the Muslim community, particularly Indonesian citizens living and residing there.
In the forum, PCIM representatives emphasized that mental health is often a taboo topic among Muslim communities. In reality, many individuals experience psychological pressure due to the process of adapting to a new environment, being far from family, and the demands of living abroad.
This program aims to build awareness that seeking professional help for mental health is normal and important. PCIM UK is striving to bridge the community's needs with the healthcare services available in the UK so that Indonesians can receive the appropriate support.
In addition to providing education, this forum also served as a discussion platform to find practical solutions for Indonesian students and migrant workers. It is hoped that this initiative can create a more supportive environment for Indonesians in the UK so that they remain productive and mentally healthy.
This activity received positive appreciation from various parties as it is considered a concrete step in supporting the well-being of Indonesian citizens abroad. Looking ahead, PCIM hopes that the issue of mental health can continue to be discussed openly so that the negative stigma in society gradually disappears.
