BNPB Records More Than 1,700 Natural Disasters in Indonesia Throughout 2026
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has reported the latest data regarding the disaster situation in Indonesia. As of September 7, 2026, a total of 1,730 natural disaster events have struck various regions across the country since the beginning of the year.
This data indicates that the potential for natural disasters remains a major challenge for Indonesia. Various types of disasters, ranging from floods and landslides to extreme weather, have had a significant impact on communities in many regions.
BNPB continues to conduct strict monitoring across all provinces to ensure that disaster response efforts are carried out promptly. Furthermore, coordination with local governments is being continuously enhanced to minimize the risks and impacts posed to local residents.
The public is urged to remain vigilant regarding weather changes and environmental conditions around their places of residence. Official information regarding early disaster warnings can be accessed through BNPB's official communication channels so that residents can take immediate anticipatory steps.
Moving forward, the government is committed to strengthening the disaster mitigation system in Indonesia. This step is expected to reduce the number of casualties and losses, as well as protect the safety of the public from the threat of natural disasters that may occur in the future.
