BPOM and IAI Strengthen Cooperation to Ensure Drug Safety in Indonesia
The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) has just announced a strategic step to strengthen collaboration with the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI). This cooperation aims to increase the effectiveness of supervision over medicinal and food products circulating among the general public.
This step is taken as a tangible effort to strengthen national health resilience. By involving pharmacists spread across all corners of Indonesia, BPOM hopes to monitor the distribution of health products more quickly and accurately.
The role of pharmacists is crucial because they are the front line that interacts directly with patients. Through this synergy, pharmacists will receive better support in carrying out their supervisory duties, so that the risk of illegal or substandard drugs circulating can be significantly reduced.
In addition to supervision, this collaboration is also focused on educating the public about the importance of choosing safe medicinal and food products. The public is urged to always check the distribution permits and product quality before consuming them to protect their own health and that of their families.
The cooperation between BPOM and IAI is expected to be a sustainable step toward creating a safer health ecosystem in Indonesia. The government is committed to continuously improving supervisory standards to protect consumer rights throughout the country.
