House of Representatives Warns Younger Generation to Be Wary of Fraudulent Investments and Illegal Online Loans
The House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia has just issued an important warning to the younger generation in Lampung. In a meeting, the DPR emphasized the importance of being vigilant against the rampant offers of fraudulent investments and illegal online loans (pinjol) that are increasingly targeting young people through social media.
Fraudulent investments often promise very large profits in a short time without clear risks. The DPR reminded that offers that look too tempting are usually a form of fraud. The public, especially Gen Z, is asked to always check the legality of investment companies through the Financial Services Authority (OJK) before depositing their money.
In addition to illegal investments, the danger of illegal online loans is also a serious concern. Many young people are trapped in mounting debt due to very high interest rates and unethical collection methods. The DPR urges the public to only use loan services that are registered and supervised by the government so that their personal and financial data remain safe.
As a preventive measure, the DPR encourages the younger generation to improve their financial literacy. Understanding how financial products work and the risks involved is the main key to protecting oneself from financial loss. This education is expected to help young people throughout Indonesia to be wiser in managing their money.
In conclusion, the government continues to strive to eradicate illegal financial practices that harm the public. However, the active role of every individual to remain vigilant and critical of financial offers on the internet is very necessary so as not to become a victim of fraud in the future.
