Government Pushes for IKN to Become a New Sports Tourism Destination Hub
The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) area is now being prepared to become a hub for community sports activities or sports tourism. This initiative is expected to attract tourists while promoting a healthy lifestyle in Indonesia's new capital city.
Legislative member from the Gerindra Party, Rahayu, stated that the IKN area has an atmosphere that is highly supportive of various sports activities. According to her, the infrastructure and urban planning currently being developed there are well-suited for hosting sports events, especially at night.
One activity considered to have potential is a fun run. This type of activity is deemed effective for engaging the wider community and creating positive crowds in the IKN area, thereby providing an economic impact on the surrounding regions.
In addition to promoting health, the development of sports tourism is expected to stimulate the local economy. With the presence of sports events, small and medium-sized enterprises around IKN can gain new opportunities to offer their products or services to visitors.
