Investment in Indonesia Remains Concentrated on the Island of Java
The realization of investment in Indonesia currently shows quite positive development in terms of equal distribution. However, the latest data indicate that economic activity through investment is still highly dependent on regions on the island of Java.
Based on the latest report, there are four provinces that dominate investment acquisition in Indonesia. These provinces are West Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java, and Banten. These four regions remain the main magnets for investors to invest their capital.
This dominance of Java is due to several supporting factors, such as more complete infrastructure and broader market access compared to other regions. This makes investors feel more secure and efficient in running their businesses on the island.
The Indonesian government continues to strive to encourage the distribution of investment outside of Java. This step is taken so that economic growth is not only felt by the people in one region, but also provides a positive impact on development in all corners of the country.
Looking ahead, it is hoped that infrastructure development outside of Java can attract more investor interest. With a more even distribution of investment, it is hoped that the economic gap between regions in Indonesia can be significantly reduced.
