Gorontalo Aims to Improve Ranking in the 2025 Indonesia Muslim Travel Index
Gorontalo Province is currently setting an ambitious target to improve its position in the 2025 Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI). This step was taken after the region successfully reached 11th place nationally in the previous assessment.
The local government views the Muslim-friendly tourism sector as a major opportunity to boost the local economy. By improving facilities and services that align with the needs of Muslim travelers, Gorontalo hopes to attract more visits from both domestic and international tourists.
Efforts to improve this ranking involve collaboration between the government, tourism industry players, and the local community. The main focus of development includes the provision of adequate prayer facilities, halal certification for culinary businesses, and the promotion of premier family-friendly tourist destinations.
Success in the IMTI is expected to be not only an award but also a new standard for the quality of tourism in Gorontalo. Through this strategy, the government is optimistic that the region's tourism competitiveness will become even stronger at both the national and international levels.
