House of Representatives Officially Passes One Data Indonesia Bill into Law
The House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia has officially approved the One Data Indonesia Bill to be enacted into law. This decision was reached during a plenary session held at the DPR building in Jakarta, serving as a strategic government step to improve national data governance.
The One Data Indonesia policy aims to create uniform data standards across all government agencies, both at the central and regional levels. Previously, discrepancies in data between ministries often occurred, which rendered the policy-making process less effective. With this law, it is hoped that all government data can be integrated into a single, accurate, and easily accessible system.
In addition to increasing efficiency, this law also emphasizes the importance of public information transparency and data protection. The government will require every agency to follow established metadata and interoperability standards. This is being done so that the data produced can be interconnected and support more targeted national development.
The implementation of this law is expected to make it easier for the public to obtain access to valid information. Furthermore, policy makers will have more accurate data when planning development programs. The government is currently preparing technical measures to ensure that this new regulation can be implemented immediately throughout all corners of Indonesia.
