Indonesia and Morocco Explore New Trade Cooperation
The Indonesian government is currently taking strategic steps to strengthen economic ties with Morocco. Both countries are exploring opportunities to establish a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA).
This step aims to reduce various tariff barriers that have been limiting the flow of goods between the two nations. With this agreement, it is hoped that export and import costs will become cheaper, allowing trade volume to increase significantly.
Morocco is considered a strategic partner for Indonesia in the North African region. This cooperation is expected to not only benefit the trade sector but also open up new investment opportunities for businesses in both countries.
Currently, both parties are still in the initial discussion stage to determine which commodities will receive tariff relief. The Indonesian government is optimistic that this agreement will have a positive impact on national economic growth.
Moving forward, the government will continue to hold in-depth discussions with the Moroccan side to finalize the draft of the agreement. It is hoped that this cooperation can be realized soon to expand the market reach of Indonesian products in the international market.
