Commission I of Sragen Regional House of Representatives Highlights Dominance of Employee Salary Budgets in Districts
Commission I of the Sragen Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) is paying special attention to the budget structure at the district level. In their latest evaluation, they found that the current fund allocation is absorbed more by employee salary payments than by operational activities or community services.
According to Commission I, this condition indicates an imbalance in budget distribution. The portion of funds used for employee expenditures is considered too dominant, limiting the districts' room to maneuver in implementing development programs or social activities.
Council members emphasized that district budgets should be more focused on activities that have a direct impact on residents. With such a large portion going toward salaries, there is concern that the effectiveness of public services at the district level cannot be maximized.
Responding to these findings, Commission I plans to coordinate further with the local government. This step is being taken to review the efficiency of budget utilization so that, in the future, the portion for community activities can be increased without neglecting employee welfare.
This evaluation is expected to serve as a consideration for the local government in drafting future budget plans. The hope is that a balance between employee expenditures and activity expenditures can be achieved to improve the quality of service for all people in Sragen Regency.
