The Fate of Remaining Internet Quota for Indonesian Users Following the Constitutional Court Ruling
The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has provided an important explanation regarding the fate of remaining internet quotas for mobile operator subscribers in Indonesia. This follows the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling that has impacted national telecommunications regulations.
Many users of major operators such as Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL Axiata have expressed concerns regarding the validity period of their remaining quotas. The government emphasizes that consumer rights remain the top priority in every policy adopted by telecommunications service provider companies.
Komdigi stated that the Constitutional Court ruling does not automatically erase the remaining quotas belonging to subscribers. Mobile operators are still required to comply with the service contracts agreed upon with users. Therefore, the remaining quotas already purchased by the public will continue to be usable according to the stated validity period.
In addition, the government continues to conduct strict supervision of mobile operators to ensure they do not disadvantage the public during this regulatory transition period. Komdigi has requested that telecommunications companies provide clear information transparency to customers should any technical changes occur in their service systems.
In conclusion, the public is urged to remain calm and not worry about the sudden loss of internet quotas. The government ensures that consumer protection remains in effect according to applicable regulations and asks customers to always monitor official information from their respective operators.
