Discourse on Said Iqbal Joining Prabowo's Cabinet Seen as an Effort to Accommodate Labor
President-elect Prabowo Subianto is reportedly in the process of composing his government cabinet for the upcoming term. One of the names emerging in public discourse is the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, who is rumored to be joining the cabinet ranks.
Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Iwan Setiawan, provided a response regarding this discourse. According to him, this move is a strategy by Prabowo to embrace various elements of society, particularly labor groups, so that their aspirations can be channeled directly within the government.
Iwan explained that the presence of a labor figure in the cabinet could serve as an effective communication bridge between the government and workers. With representation from trade unions, policies related to employment are expected to be fairer and take into account the interests of workers in Indonesia.
However, as of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the cabinet composition from Prabowo Subianto's side. The public is still waiting for certainty regarding which figures will be chosen to help run the wheels of government for the next five years.
This issue has become a significant point of attention because the relationship between the government and labor groups is often a focal point in national economic dynamics. The presence of labor representatives at the policy-making level is considered a strategic step to maintain social and economic stability in Indonesia.
